This metaphor seems fitting for the year 2016. And it’s not over yet! This has been the year of the totally bizarre and the unexpected. Astrologically it has been a very complex time. But where did the weirdness come from?
The Weirdness of Uranus: One of the leading culprits is Uranus, known for being unpredictable and for upsetting the status quo. Actually Uranus has been in play since 2014, fueling movements like Isis and the Arab Spring. But this year Uranus is now aspecting the minor planets Eris and Haumea, and all are aspecting three black holes in Sidereal Aries, and The Galactic Center. In other words, we are in a period of great and powerful change, both on the world stage and in our own private dramas.
What To Change? That is the question. First, during times of great change there is a polarization in society, those who resist change, and those who welcome it. At some deep level many of us fear change. Sometimes the misery that we know seems safer than something new and unknown. During times of upheaval, our first instinct is to fight the symptom instead of the cause. For example, Obama Care seems to be headed for disaster, and it does need faxing. But this is just a symptom. Maybe we should look at the causes- Why Are So Many People Sick In The Richest Country In The World?
New Moon: The week kicks off with a New Moon on Sunday. There is an ancient belief that change is more easily done during a New Moon. Combined with the compelling energy of Uranus, this can be a doorway into our own new future.
How To Create Change: Most of us know what we want changed, the bigger question is always how. At first we go about changing our hair, our job, we want to move or change relationships. But these are superficial, and in the end, they are only temporary, because we drag our old core beliefs with us into the new. For over a hundred years Psychology has been searching for ways to change our core beliefs. Today there are pioneers who have found ways of meaningful transformation that Freud never dreamed of. Island of Peace and Quiet: The last few months have been so full of powerful energy that this week may feel like a mini-vacation, energy wise. Neither the Earth nor Mars is aspecting any of the more powerful outer planets, leaving us time to take a much-needed breath. Logic would say that the outer planets are so far away that they should have less influence on us. But no, they are much more powerful because they stay in the same spot for so long that they affect greater change.
Moon Phase: We are at the end of the Moon cycle. The Waning Moon ends on Saturday, with a New Moon on Sunday Oct. 30 th . So again, this is a good time to rest when you can. This is the best time of the month to clean up your surroundings, and to clean out your body in preparation for the new cycle.
Earth in Aries: Both the Earth and Ceres are in Aries, calling for us to focus more on ourselves rather that others. Take care of your own needs first and then it is easier to help others.
Mars in Aquarius: With aggressive Mars in reform minded Aquarius for the nest few weeks, it is tempting to attempt to fix what’s broken in the world “out there’. But this can best be done after you fix something inside yourself first. The question is what do I fix and how?

More of The Same? Again? Yes, Again! Why does the flood of outrageous events keep on keeping on this year? Because, a clutch of slow moving outer planets [Pluto Saturn, and minor planet Makemake] are aspecting the Great Attractor. And another group, [Neptune, Uranus, and minor planets Eris and Hauema] are aspecting The Galactic Center. So What Does It All Mean? Anything can happen, both good and ill. Just the Mars- Uranus connection alone is a time of liberation, freedom and surprises. Public and political news will be full of new revelations. It is also important to be careful of accidents. NEW MOON: On a lighter note, the first New Moon of the Fall, on Friday night, ushers in the weekend. If cool weather has reached you, open doors and windows and let in the new season. Clean or change air filters, and bring in some new energy into your home. Try a new plant, flowers, or a real pumpkin. FALL EQUINOX ON THURSDAY: This week is the official end of Summer and beginning of Fall. The Sun enters Libra the sign of the scales, when day and night are the same length of time.
The Sun will be meeting Jupiter and the minor planet Makemake this week. Libra is known for its focus on the finer things in life. Jupiter in the picture spells Abundance.
This week is a good time to enjoy some of your favorite art forms, or a time to re- decorate your home, or re-work your wardrobe. Some of us will enjoy a fine wine and dine event. Careful though, because Jupiter is never budget minded.
The Moon meets unpredictable Uranus early in the week and squares Mars, which may stir up some surprising events, both nationally and personally. Take care while driving.
Equinox Celebrations: Our ancient ancestors celebrated the Harvest Season at this time. They gave thanks for the abundance they receive during the year.

YOUR WEEK IN THE STARS – SEPTEMBER 11 – 17
THE FULL MOON IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK: This week’s full Moon on Friday should kick off a festive weekend. The event occurs in Pisces, a water sign. In my hometown, there is a Mermaid Festival with water events, combining the social aspect of the Full Moon with water. See if you can include a water adventure in your weekend plans.
SOUL DEEP. For the spiritually minded, a private ritual honoring the Goddess nature of the Moon would be ideal. And for Christians it is a good time to honor the sign of the Fish. In astrology, signs that are opposite each other have a powerful yin yang relationship, as in Virgo and Pisces. This week the Sun is in Virgo the Virgin – the constellation that appears on the Eastern horizon just before Sunrise on Christmas morning, symbolically giving birth to the Sun of Man. And this weeks Full Moon blossoms in the opposite sign of the fish, the symbol for the Sun of Man. We are in the last hundred or so years in the Age of Pisces.
HAVING A LEG TO STAND ON: Some of us may notice some difficulties with our legs during this time. We have Saturn and Mars in Sagittarius ruler of the thighs. Pluto is in Capricorn ruler of the knees. During mid-week the Moon is in Aquarius ruler of the calves. And Neptune is in Pisces ruler of the feet. If you are having issues with legs and feet this is a good time to take some action. Changing shoes or adding new inner soles may help. But going barefoot outside might be the best remedy of all. Why?
EARTHING: Have you heard of the benefits of grounding yourself to the Earth? If not, Google” Earthing”, and you will be amazed.
WHAT IS EARTHING? In short, we are electrical beings. Our bodies run on certain electrical frequencies and like any electrical device we can run out of “E” energy. FOR ALL OF US: The Full Moon plus Jupiter should make people more social and put us in a better mood, especially extroverts. The caution with this combination is, OVEREXTENDING, take care not to over do things like eating, spending, or driving too fast—etc.
FOR THE SPIRITUAL MINDED, the Full Moon is a good time for powerful meditation and ritual.
MID WEEK: Mercury and Venus are dancing around in Leo. Good for fun, friendship and a touch of entertainment.
THE WEEKEND: sees Mercury in Virgo, joining Jupiter and the minor planets Makemake and Haumea. This is a haven for introverts, and a good time for all of us to work on pet projects.
REMEMBER: most of the outer planets are in extremely powerful positions. Saturn and Pluto are aspecting the Great Attractor. Jupiter, Neptune, the minor planets Eris and Hauema are aspecting The Galactic Center. These are like powder kegs that explode when touched off by the faster moving inner planets. Orlando and Dallas were prime examples. When can we expect things to calm down? Looking at the big picture, all of this is leading to a major climax next year, in the Fall of 2017.

PREDICTIONS: JULY 2016
FIREWORKS ALL SUMMER LONG: Against the backdrop of high energy in the Solar system, July has standout moments of its own.
June has already seen the effects of Saturn conjunct The Great Attractor. We have had sweeping Supreme Court decisions, Brexit, tragic terrorism in Orlando, and the Pope apologizes for the Church’s past treatment of women and gays.
Another powerful summer combination is Hauema opposing Eris and Uranus. While the meaning of the recently discovered dwarf planets Haumea and Eris is unclear, the energy of Uranus is all about abrupt change, liberation, freedom, and surprise reversals. We should get a good sense of this combination when the Earth squares all three in mid July, followed by a Full Moon.
Neptune aspects The Galactic Center, calling up a deep desire to reform injustice.
And with Uranus already in play, there is a further push toward liberation and freedom. Corruption is exposed. Truth will out.
Jupiter squares the Galactic Center adding expansion to the mix. Brexit is a good example of all this energy.
We can expect more surprises in every area, from nature to Politics. Watch for fireworks during the National Political Conventions.
